11 Kurdish migrants return after going missing in Libya
LIBYA – Eleven Kurdish irregular migrants have returned to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq after previously going missing in Libya, according to a report published by the Iraqi news website The New Region.
Returnees part of a group of 18 migrants
The report, followed and summarised by Al-Marsad, said the 11 returnees were part of a group of 18 Kurdish irregular migrants who went missing in Libya two months ago.
Months of efforts
It quoted Salim Pasha, an adviser at the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Department of Foreign Relations, as saying that the migrants’ return followed months of efforts by the regional government.
Pasha added that the Kurdistan Regional Government’s efforts to determine the fate of the young Kurdish asylum seekers would continue.
