After Storm Daniel, Derna Finds Equilibrium Between Quick Relief and Long-Term Rebuild

Al-Hassadi: Derna Has Moved Beyond Challenges—Balancing Rapid Recovery and Sustainable Reconstruction

Libya — Mansour Al-Hassadi, a member of the High Council of State, said one of the key challenges Derna has successfully navigated after Storm Daniel is striking a balance between rapid recovery and sustainable reconstruction.

From Destruction to Rebuilding
In a post on his official Twitter account titled “From the Catastrophe’s Ruin to Reconstruction Stability,” Al-Hassadi said the city’s ongoing construction, rehabilitation and rebuilding efforts have helped—and continue to help—restore social, psychological, economic and public-service stability, alongside a revival in sports and cultural activities.
