Ajdabiya, Libya — Field Marshal Khalifa Abu al-Qasim Haftar, General Commander of the Libyan Armed Forces, delivered a keynote address at the inauguration of new bridges and a slate of development and public-service projects in Ajdabiya, praising local leaders and the Development and Reconstruction Fund for work he said reflects “broad-based progress on an unprecedented scale.”
Praise for delivery and quiet work
Haftar saluted Ajdabiya’s elders, dignitaries and attendees from the House of Representatives, the government and cabinet, commending teams “who understood the meaning of trust and guarded it,” raced against time, and “fought backwardness with major achievements,” stressing a preference for deeds over words and “work carried out calmly and without fanfare.” He said the projects’ tangible impact “defeats enemies and detractors.”
‘Dignity Revolution’ and state-building path
Reaffirming that the “Dignity Revolution continues its march” toward progress, civilization and a dignified life, Haftar said the aim is a Libya that stands as a model of security, stability, construction and reconstruction—where the people “decide their own destiny,” proud of their past and present and looking to a brighter future.
Ajdabiya’s standing and ongoing build-out
Highlighting the city’s “honorable” record in national defense, Haftar said Ajdabiya is witnessing a comprehensive urban upturn: model schools, modern hospitals with full staffing, bridges and road networks meeting standard specifications, and parks and public spaces “rapidly transforming into a pleasing image of development.”
More projects to follow
Congratulating residents on what has been delivered—“a small part of much more to come, God willing”—he said the “caravan of construction and reconstruction” will continue without pause “from one city to another.”
Tribute to the fallen
Haftar closed with greetings to Ajdabiya and its people and a salute to “the martyrs who gave their lives so that dignity would triumph over terrorism,” praying for continued blessings and guidance “on the path of good.”
