Arrangements to receive Bouri field gas at Mellitah

LIBYA – The National Oil Corporation’s Production Department has held a high-level coordination meeting attended by a number of the corporation’s department directors and technical staff, together with directors and specialists representing Mellitah Oil and Gas Company and Eni North Africa.

Coordination between NOC, Mellitah and Eni

The meeting reviewed the arrangements needed to receive, process and make use of around 100 million cubic feet of gas produced from the Bouri field at the Mellitah Industrial Complex, as well as a number of important organisational issues linked to gas transport and processing operations.

Target to curb gas flaring by 2030

Participants also discussed mechanisms for coordination and cooperation among the various parties involved, to ensure the work is carried out according to the approved timetables and that facilities are ready to receive the volumes produced.

The meeting is part of NOC’s efforts to push gas utilisation projects forward and bring together the efforts of the parties involved, supporting the corporation’s targets of making use of the gas it produces and reducing flaring by 2030, in line with national policies aimed at strengthening environmental sustainability and cutting carbon emissions.
