Saddam Haftar Holds Expanded Meeting in Benghazi with Pakistan’s Army Chief to Discuss Shared Files and Bilateral Cooperation
Libya – The General Command’s Media Office announced that the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces, Lt. Gen. Saddam Haftar, held an expanded meeting with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, at the General Command headquarters in Benghazi, in the presence of senior Libyan military leaders as well as Pakistani commanders and chiefs of staff.
Discussion of Issues of Mutual Interest
According to the Media Office, the meeting featured an exchange of views on a number of matters of shared interest.
Review of Cooperation Between the Two Sides
The statement added that the talks also included a review of avenues for cooperation between the two sides across various fields.
Emphasis on Strengthening Bilateral Relations
Haftar, as cited by the Media Office, reaffirmed that Libya’s Commander-in-Chief, Field Marshal Khalifa Belqasim Haftar, is committed to strengthening bilateral relations and partnership between Libya and Pakistan, while renewing his welcome of what he described as a historic visit by Pakistan’s army chief to Libya.
