Regional and international issues at Sisi-Guterres meeting
LIBYA – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi discussed developments in Libya, Sudan and the Horn of Africa, as well as the Palestinian issue, with UN Secretary-General António Guterres on Monday.
Peaceful settlement and respect for international law
A spokesman for the Egyptian presidency said the two sides stressed the importance of resolving disputes by peaceful means and respecting the principles of international law.
Reforming the UN and the Security Council
The talks also covered the need to press ahead with reforming the UN system, above all the Security Council, so as to make representation fairer and strengthen the organisation’s ability to respond to contemporary international crises and challenges.
