Abu Shraida demands treatment on the ground, not announcements alone
LIBYA – Dania Abu Shraida, head of the endocrinology and diabetes unit at Mitiga Hospital, said the Medical Supply Organization’s announcement that three shipments of diabetes medicines had arrived is not enough to reassure patients unless it is paired with regular, uninterrupted access to treatment.
Questions on distribution and whether volumes are enough
In exclusive remarks to the Fawasel platform, Abu Shraida asked when distribution would begin, how insulin would be dispensed to patients, and whether the quantities that had arrived cover actual needs.
She voiced concern over the continued shortage of long-acting basal insulin, saying that type remains a deep source of worry for patients.
Transparency, a secure stock and a sustainable supply
She called for a clear distribution plan to be disclosed and for a secure, sustainable stock of all insulin types, stressing that access to treatment is a right that cannot be postponed.
