Two new routes will link Milan Bergamo and Rome Fiumicino airports with Mitiga Airport, with two weekly flights from each airport
LIBYA – A report published by the English-language Italian website The Flight Club revealed that the Italian airline Aeroitalia is seeking to expand its flight network towards Libya.
Two New Routes to Mitiga
The report, which Al-Marsad followed and translated in its main points, said the company is preparing to launch two new routes from Milan Bergamo and Rome Fiumicino airports to Mitiga Airport in the capital Tripoli, at a rate of two weekly flights from each airport.
Economic and Trade Ties
It added that Aeroitalia is not the only airline operating direct flights to Tripoli, as ITA Airways plans to resume its flights to Libya, alongside services already operated by Medsky Airways.
The report noted that growth in air traffic between Libya and Italy is linked not only to tourist demand, but also to the important economic and trade ties binding the two countries.
