Al-Arfi criticises the State Council presidency’s stance on 4+4
LIBYA – House of Representatives member Abdulmonem Al-Arfi said that, in his view, the presidency of the High Council of State was now clearly obstructing the mini-dialogue committee’s “4+4” deal.
Criticism of Tekala’s positions
Speaking in remarks to the Ab’ad platform, Al-Arfi said High Council of State President Mohamed Tekala was pursuing what he described as a policy of fluctuating positions, noting that Tekala’s meeting with House of Representatives Speaker Aguila Saleh in Turkey had ended without Tekala stating a clear stance.
Expectation that the State Council presidency will be bypassed
Al-Arfi expected the High Council of State president to be bypassed, especially after what he described as the UN Security Council’s blessing of the “4+4” deal.
Unifying institutions and stability
Al-Arfi argued that implementing the committee’s deal was the path toward unifying institutions and creating real stability.
