Al-Lafi Explains Saudi Health Requirements for Hajj Lottery Winners

Completing pilgrim medical checks under health rules

LIBYA – Hatem Al-Lafi, media office director at the General Authority for Hajj and Umrah Affairs, said medical preparations for pilgrims have reached their second stage, covering the eastern and southern regions after the first stage was completed in the western and central regions.

Libyan coordination and Saudi health requirements

Speaking to Libya Al-Ahrar, which broadcasts from Turkey — followed and summarised by Al-Marsad — Al-Lafi said the checks are carried out under a Libyan Health Ministry plan in coordination with the Hajj and Umrah Authority and the accompanying medical committee, applying binding requirements issued by Saudi Arabia’s Health Ministry for all winners of this year’s Hajj lottery.

He said only one day remains to complete medical screening for everyone named in the lottery.

Tests, X-rays and medical declarations

He said the Health Ministry-mandated medical committee follows a protocol that includes pilgrims bringing test and lab results and X-ray images, and signing declarations on medicines they take or conditions they have not disclosed.

He added that the procedures aim to reduce disruption during the Hajj season, improve follow-up of pilgrims’ files and identify those who may face sudden health problems such as heat stress or blood-pressure disorders.
