Arabian Gulf Oil Discusses Developing Tobruk and Sarir Refineries With US Firm BlueVee Energy

Plans to develop the Tobruk and Sarir refineries

LIBYA – Mohamed Bin Shatwan, chairman of the board of the Arabian Gulf Oil Company, has discussed ways to develop the Tobruk and Sarir refineries with Counsellor Ahmed Abdullah, vice-chairman of the US firm BlueVee Energy, which specialises in engineering studies and the manufacture of gas-processing and oil-refinery equipment.

Technical participation and infrastructure upgrades

The meeting was attended by Salem Boureqia, director of the refineries department, and Misbah Al-Zahawi, director of the technical affairs department. Talks focused on upgrading refining infrastructure and improving operating efficiency as part of Arabian Gulf Oil’s strategy.

Drawing on US technology

The two sides reviewed opportunities for technical cooperation and the advanced technologies and global expertise the US company holds in manufacturing gas-processing equipment and oil refineries.

The meeting comes as part of efforts to strengthen production capacity and meet domestic market needs for fuels and refined products, supporting stable energy supplies and the country’s development and economic needs.
