Baaio highlights the burden on Libyan families
LIBYA – Mohamed Baaio, head of the Libyan Media Foundation in the government appointed by the House of Representatives, criticised the rising living costs borne by middle-income Libyan families, citing meat and cooking gas prices.
50 dinars for meat and 75 dinars for gas
In a post on his personal Facebook page, Baaio said a middle-income household — which he described as “barely getting by” — is forced to buy half a kilogram of beef or camel meat for 50 dinars, while cooking it consumes half a gas cylinder he said costs 75 dinars.
He concluded: “Anyone who does not feel Libyans’ suffering is not one of them.”
