Baaio: new presidency ends monopoly within the House of Representatives
LIBYA – Mohamed Baaio, head of the Libyan Media Foundation, said the election of a new Presidency Bureau of the House of Representatives, at a session he said was attended by 110 members, represented a “corrective step” that ends what he described as monopoly and opens the door to rotation within the House.
In a post on his Facebook page, Baaio said the world recognises the Libyan House of Representatives and its seat in Benghazi, arguing that attempts to split it will fail.
Call to MPs in Tripoli
Baaio called on the MPs he described as “adventurers in Tripoli” to come to their senses and not accept becoming, in his words, “servants in the Dbeibahs’ enclosure”.
He added that the House of Representatives has room for all its members, and that under its dome, which he said “has returned to existence”, they will find themselves real elected MPs with standing, place and effectiveness.
