New seizure linked to an investigation in Benghazi
LIBYA – The General Administration for Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances in Benghazi has announced the seizure of about 20 kilograms of hashish and 800 narcotic pills from a woman living in the Al-Leithi area. The seizure is a follow-up to a case whose details the administration’s branch announced last Saturday, in which anti-narcotics personnel met resistance and one of them was injured.
Investigators suspect she helped her husband store drugs
The administration’s media office said the operation was based on information in the evidence-gathering report and on inquiries that pointed to suspicions that a woman identified by the initials G.H.A. had helped her husband obtain and store the drugs.
200 pieces of hashish and “Rouge” pills
It added that branch personnel executed an arrest warrant against the suspect and found in her possession 200 large pieces of hashish, known among dealers as “passports”, weighing an estimated 20 kilograms, as well as 800 “Rouge” narcotic pills.
Case referred to prosecutors
The administration said the necessary legal measures had been taken and the Public Prosecution notified so that it could complete the investigation and the required procedures.
