LIBYA – Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar received members of the House of Representatives, in the presence of Deputy Commander-in-Chief Lt Gen Saddam Haftar and Director-General of the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund Belgassem Haftar, at his office at General Command headquarters in Benghazi.
Call to put the homeland’s unity and sovereignty first
Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar welcomed the House of Representatives members, praising their role and national responsibility at this stage, and stressing the importance of joining efforts and placing the nation’s interest, unity and sovereignty above all else.
Support for ending division and unifying institutions
He affirmed his support for efforts aimed at ending the state of division and unifying state institutions, valuing the House of Representatives’ role in the political track and the outcomes of the 4+4 committee.
Armed forces ready to protect the country
He also affirmed the readiness of the armed forces and their ability to protect the homeland and confront any threat to Libya’s security, sovereignty and stability.
