Death sentences in a case of more than two million pills
LIBYA – The Zintan Criminal Court sentenced five defendants to death after convicting them of bringing psychotropic substances into the country.
2,190,750 pills seized
The Public Prosecution had charged the five defendants after they were caught in the act of possessing 2,190,750 psychotropic pills.
Death sentences for bringing in Pregabalin
The criminal court convicted the five and sentenced them to death on the charge of bringing in the substance Pregabalin in the quantities stated.
Additional sentences for possessing weapons and ammunition
The court also sentenced the third and fifth defendants to four years in prison, and the second and fourth to three years, for possessing weapons and ammunition.
