Hajj lottery to be held electronically on Wednesday morning

LIBYA – Hatem Al-Lafi, spokesman for the General Authority for Hajj and Umrah Affairs, confirmed that the Hajj lottery for the 1448 AH/2027 season will be held electronically on Wednesday, 7 October, at 10am, across eight geographically distributed centres.

50% of the quota for those over 65

Al-Lafi told Libya Al-Hadath TV that 50% of the pilgrim quota has been allocated to people aged over 65, with the other 50% going to the remaining registrants.

Oversight and a live broadcast of the draw

He confirmed that oversight bodies will attend the draw, which will be broadcast live on the official pages of the coordination offices.

Eight geographically distributed centres

He said the draw will be held in Greater Tripoli, the Western Region, the Western Coast and the Western Mountain; in the Southern Region in Sabha; in Benghazi; for the Ajdabiya, Benghazi and Benghazi Suburbs coordination office; and in Derna for the Derna and Tobruk coordination offices.

Messages for winners, with later contact through coordinators

Al-Lafi said congratulatory messages will be sent to the winners, who will later be contacted through coordinators and supervisors.
