National security legislation reviewed in Benghazi
LIBYA The House of Representatives Legislative and Constitutional Committee, chaired by committee head Ramadan Shambash and attended by committee rapporteur Abdelsalam Nasiya and committee members Osama Al-Shaafi and Saleh Afhima, held a meeting with National Security Adviser Lt Gen Abdelrazek Al-Nazouri.
Reviewing wording and consistency with existing law
Those present discussed a number of draft laws proposed by the National Security Council and referred to the House of Representatives.
The meeting, held at the National Security Councils offices in Benghazi, was also attended by several of the councils experts. The referred draft laws were reviewed and their substance and legal and legislative dimensions discussed, along with comments and proposals on wording and development, to ensure consistency with existing legislation and strengthen their effectiveness in facing changes and challenges linked to national security.
Coordination to develop the legislative framework
Both sides stressed the importance of continued coordination and cooperation between the National Security Council and the Legislative and Constitutional Committee, to help build an integrated legislative framework able to keep pace with current developments and challenges.
