Rain in the north and a warning of possible floods in the east
LIBYA – The National Meteorological Centre forecast that rain-bearing cloud will continue to affect most of northern Libya, especially this Wednesday evening, 16 September 2026, with scattered showers sometimes accompanied by thunder cells.
Warning for the Green Mountain and Derna
The centre said rainfall may at times be significant over the Green Mountain and Derna, warning of possible water collecting in low-lying places and flash floods, and urging the public to stay alert.
Gradual Stabilisation in the North-West
It said conditions will gradually stabilise over north-western areas from this evening, while the centre and south will see relatively settled weather over the next two days.
Rain Clouds Return to the West on Saturday
The centre expected cloud to build again over western areas from next Saturday evening, with a chance of scattered showers sometimes accompanied by thunder cells.
