Saturday Weather: Little Change Across Most Areas, With Thunderstorms and a Temperature Drop From Sunday
LIBYA – The National Meteorological Centre forecast little change in weather conditions today, Saturday 12 September 2026, across most of the country, with temperatures ranging between 33°C and 40°C in the north-west, between 29°C and 35°C in the north-east, and between 36°C and 42°C across most of the south.
Temperatures Fall From Sunday Evening
The centre said temperatures will fall markedly across north-western areas from tomorrow evening, Sunday, with the drop extending to the Ghadames and Hamada areas on Monday evening.
Scattered Rain and Thunder Cells
It said cloud will build over the north-west from Sunday evening, with scattered rain that may be significant in some areas and occasionally accompanied by thunder cells.
The centre added that rain and cloud will also affect parts of the Jufra and the Green Mountain, expecting cloud to continue building from time to time over some northern areas through the end of the week, with a chance of scattered showers.
Maritime Warning From Zuwarah to Al-Khums
In its special bulletin for fishing along the Libyan coast, the centre warned of active to strong north-westerly to south-easterly winds along the coast from Zuwarah to Al-Khums, with speeds of 25 to 30 knots and waves rising to as high as 3 metres.
It said the warning is in force from 09:00 GMT this Saturday morning until 12:00 GMT on Sunday.
