Oil Products Depot With Capacity of 226,300 Cubic Metres Under Construction in Libya

New depot to expand Libya’s fuel storage capacity

LIBYA – Libya has begun building an oil products depot with a capacity of 226,300 cubic metres, in a move aimed at making fuel supplies more resilient, according to an economic report published by the international magazine Oil & Gas Middle East.

The report, whose main points were followed and summarised by Al-Marsad, said the project comes as the oil sector recovers from attacks and refineries resume operations, and follows a fire last August that led to the partial closure of the Zawiya oil depot.

Tripoli stocks and extra shipments support supplies

The report added that nationwide supplies had remained relatively stable despite a temporary disruption in the western region, relying on petrol stocks at the Tripoli oil depot and on tankers loading additional cargoes.
