Plan to Protect Students and Parents and Organise Traffic in Benghazi

Security and traffic deployment as the school year begins

LIBYA – On the instructions of Security Director Major General Salah Huwaidi, the Greater Benghazi Security Directorate has begun applying a security and traffic plan to coincide with the start of the new school year, deploying police and traffic officers at a number of routes, junctions and congested areas, and around educational institutions.

Organising traffic and securing school surroundings

According to the directorate’s media office, the plan aims to organise traffic and keep it flowing smoothly, secure the areas around schools, protect students and parents, and reduce traffic congestion on key routes.

Monitoring roads affected by reconstruction work

The plan also includes monitoring roads affected by reconstruction work and closing some routes, as well as responding quickly to any congestion or field observations.

Field monitoring throughout the day

The directorate confirmed that field monitoring continues throughout the day, helping provide a safe and organised environment as the new school year begins.
