Debate over regulating online content
LIBYA – Social counsellor Khairiya Al-Farjani has voiced support for any decision by the relevant authorities to block the TikTok app, or any other website, in Libya if the aim is to protect values, customs and traditions.
Concerns over the content’s impact on young people
In exclusive comments to Libya Al-Hadath TV, Al-Farjani said that, in her view, the app’s content had become a danger to children, young people and girls, and threatened moral and behavioural standards.
She noted that social media platforms, particularly TikTok, are open to everyone without what she considers adequate oversight or controls.
