‘Tripoli Declaration’ Caps Savings and Financial Literacy Conference to Boost Arab Cooperation

Issa Opens Fifth Arab Conference on Savings and Financial Literacy in Tripoli With Arab and International Participation

LIBYA – Central Bank of Libya Governor Naji Issa on Monday opened the Fifth Arab Conference on Savings and Financial Literacy, being held in Tripoli from 7 to 9 September under the slogan “Financial Intelligence in an Era of Transformation”, sponsored by the Central Bank of Libya in partnership with the Bahraini MENA Money foundation.

Participation by Institutions and Arab Central Banks

The conference brings together local institutions, regional and international financial bodies and Arab central banks, alongside experts and academics, to discuss financial inclusion, digital transformation, and strengthening the efficiency of the banking sector and financial literacy.

Digital Payments and the Buna and CIPS Platforms

It addresses the Central Bank of Libya’s efforts to develop the digital payments system and financial connectivity projects through the Buna platform and the CIPS system, as well as cybersecurity initiatives and studying and developing digital currency in Libya.

Expansion of E-Payments and the ‘Ratibak Lahzi’ Project

The conference reviewed the rapid growth in the use of electronic payment methods and instant transfers, as well as the “Ratibak Lahzi” (Your Salary Instantly) project, which has helped speed up salary disbursement and raise the efficiency of financial services.

‘Tripoli Declaration’ at Conference Close

The conference is due to conclude with the “Tripoli Declaration for the Arab Alliance for Financial Literacy”, as a framework to strengthen Arab cooperation and coordinate efforts on financial literacy and support the path of financial inclusion in the region.
