Tripoli Emergency Centre Raises Readiness for Rain, Prepares Rescue and Ambulance Teams and Vehicles

Field preparations for expected weather changes

LIBYA – Shihab Al-Din Abu Al-Qasim, director of the Tripoli office of the Emergency and Support Centre, has said the centre is overseeing preparations for the unsettled weather and rain expected next week, in line with direct instructions from the Government of National Unity’s Minister of Health and the centre’s director-general.

Trained teams and refurbished emergency vehicles

In comments to Libya Al-Ahrar TV, which broadcasts from Turkey — followed and summarised by Al-Marsad — Abu Al-Qasim said the centre was raising its readiness to deal with the rain through trained teams specialising in emergencies, rescue and ambulance services, as well as by preparing and refurbishing all vehicles used to respond to emergencies.

Round-the-clock coordination with the authorities

He stressed the importance of continued round-the-clock coordination and communication with the relevant bodies, including the Tripoli Security Directorate, municipalities, water and sanitation companies and other security agencies, saying the centre was fully ready to deal with the rain.

Warning to citizens and a 24-hour reports room

Abu Al-Qasim urged citizens to take care, stay away from places where water collects and avoid taking risks during the bad weather, noting that the centre’s reports room operates around the clock and is ready to receive citizens’ reports of any incidents during rainfall.
