British support for consensus and Libyan elections
LIBYA – The UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative, Hanna Tetteh, met the UK Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa, Stephen Doughty, in London on Tuesday to discuss the latest political and economic developments in Libya and ways to support efforts to unify state institutions.
Building on the agreement’s momentum towards elections
The two sides exchanged views on the importance of building on the momentum created by the mini-meeting agreement to drive an inclusive political process that paves the way for unifying Libyan institutions and holding national elections, as set out in the agreement.
Thanks for the UK’s hosting of the mini meeting
Tetteh thanked Doughty for the UK’s support for the UN mission’s efforts to strengthen stability in Libya, including hosting the mini-meeting session in London on Wednesday.
