Two early goals give Zambia the edge
LIBYA – Libya’s national team lost 3-1 to Zambia as both sides opened their campaigns at the 2026 Africa Futsal Cup of Nations in Morocco, with Zambia making the most of their chances to take all three points in a closely fought Group A match.
Chishala and Mwila put Zambia ahead
A report by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), followed and summarised by Al-Marsad, said Zambia opened the scoring through Royd Chishala in the second minute before Patrick Mwila added a second four minutes later, giving Zambia a two-goal lead early in the match.
Third goal in the 23rd minute
The report said Zambia continued to threaten the Libyan goal, and Mwila struck again in the 23rd minute, after the start of the second half, for his second goal and his side’s third.
Abu Raas pulls one back in the final minute
Libya tried to fight their way back into the match and Mohammed Abu Raas scored in the final minute, but it was not enough to change the outcome as Zambia won the opening match 3-1.
