National understandings to end transitional phases
Libya – High State Council President Mohamed Tekala and Presidential Council member Abdullah Al-Lafi stressed that reaching a sustainable settlement requires respect for Libyan ownership of the political process and adherence to legal and constitutional frameworks, during a meeting hosted at the High State Council’s headquarters in the capital, Tripoli.
Political, economic and security developments
The meeting, at which Tekala received Al-Lafi, reviewed developments in the Libyan scene in its political, economic and security dimensions, and the entitlements and responsibilities of the current phase, with a view to strengthening chances of stability and paving the way for a more firmly rooted stage in building the state and its institutions.
National responsibility and unified institutions
Both sides stressed that addressing the Libyan crisis is an authentic national responsibility, and that genuine national understandings are needed to end the transitional phases, entrench state institutions and respond to Libyans’ aspirations for security, stability and a unified, stable state.
