Developing administrative justice and reviewing judicial transfers
Libya – The Supreme Judicial Council discussed a project to establish first-instance administrative courts and administrative courts of appeal at its Sunday meeting in Benghazi, chaired by Council President Counsellor Muftah Al-Qawi with council members present.
System development and a wider workshop
The project was taken up as part of developing the administrative justice system and strengthening the efficiency and remit of judicial work. The council directed the Judicial Inspection Department to organise a broad workshop with the relevant judicial bodies to discuss it.
The workshop is intended to prepare the way for completing the steps needed for the council to issue a decision establishing the courts, pursuant to Article 19 of Judicial System Law No. 6 of 2006.
Readiness of arrangements and decisions on judicial work
The council also reviewed how ready arrangements for the judicial transfer round are, discussed a number of files linked to judicial affairs and the conduct of work, and issued the necessary decisions and directives on them.
