Officials detained over education sector spending
LIBYA – The Public Prosecution has ordered the pre-trial detention of the financial affairs controller and the internal auditor at the Jufra Municipality Education Office pending investigation, over accusations that they approved the payment of 250,000 dinars to people who are not public employees.
Prosecution inquiry and justification for the payments
The Attorney General’s Office said the prosecutor had examined evidence that the two suspects committed criminal acts in approving the payment, and that they had offered no justification for their actions, leading to the decision to hold them in pre-trial detention as part of the investigation.
