Libyan Airlines Poised to Sign Biggest Airbus Deals Since 2006

Libya – The Dubai Airshow has announced that a number of Libyan airlines are preparing to sign major agreements to purchase new aircraft from Airbus during the exhibition.

Berniq, Buraq and Sama Al-Mutawassit Submit Formal Requests
In statements made exclusively to Al-Masar TV, the Airshow organizers explained that Berniq Airways, Buraq Air and Sama Al-Mutawassit have submitted formal requests and are gearing up to sign sizeable contracts with European manufacturer Airbus, describing these deals as the largest with Libya since 2006.

Focus on A330neo, A320neo and A321neo Models
The organizers added that the Libyan carriers’ orders are focused on specific aircraft types, namely the A330neo, A320neo and A321neo, reflecting a clear strategy to modernize the Libyan air fleet with the latest-generation aircraft available on the market.

Airbus Welcomes Revival of Libya’s Aviation Sector
According to the Airshow, Airbus has voiced its satisfaction with the renewed dynamism and activity in Libya’s aviation sector after years of instability, noting that the global aviation industry is closely following the Benghazi New International Airport project, which is described as the largest airport in North Africa.
