Field Marshal Haftar Attends Closing of Dignity Shield 2 as Saddam Haftar Hails Armed Forces Readiness
Libya – Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, announced that the Libyan Arab Armed Forces carried out the “Dignity Shield 2” manoeuvre, describing it as the largest in the history of Libya’s military institution, with the participation of more than 25,000 soldiers from various military units.
A Demonstration of Military Readiness
Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar said the manoeuvre came after the Armed Forces hosted and took part in the international military exercise “Flintlock 2026” in the vicinity of Sirte.
He said “Dignity Shield 2” reflected the level of readiness reached by the Armed Forces and their ability to carry out the duties assigned to them with discipline and professionalism.
Message from the Commander-in-Chief
The Deputy Commander-in-Chief conveyed the greetings and appreciation of the Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, who attended the national event.
He said Field Marshal Haftar praised the commitment shown by all military units, their high level of readiness and discipline, and their ability to implement various operational tasks.
Field Marshal Haftar Attends the Closing Ceremony
The “Dignity Shield 2” manoeuvre, supervised by the Deputy Commander-in-Chief, concluded on Tuesday in the presence of Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar and a number of senior Armed Forces commanders.
Field Marshal Haftar reviewed the course of the manoeuvre from the air before attending its closing ceremony from the main platform, where 25,000 soldiers gathered before the military leadership.
During the ceremony, Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar honoured Field Marshal Haftar with the “Dignity Shield 2” shield.
The Commander-in-Chief saluted all participating soldiers and praised their discipline, professionalism, and performance during the manoeuvre, saying their conduct demonstrated their readiness to protect the homeland and defend it against any threats it may face.
Commitment to Libya’s Unity
Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar said members of the Armed Forces renew their firm national commitment to Libya’s unity and their constant readiness to sacrifice for the Libyan people.
He said this commitment comes in loyalty to the martyrs whose sacrifices secured the victory of Operation Dignity against terrorist organisations and ended years of division and fragmentation within the military and security institutions.
