Al-Abani: Parliament to Hold Session Next Week on the 4+4 Deal, Subject to Quorum
LIBYA – House of Representatives member Mohamed Al-Abani said parliament will hold a session next week to consider the final agreement of the mini dialogue committee and take a position for or against it, provided the legal quorum for convening the session is met.
Parliamentary Support, Decision Rests With Speakership
Speaking to Al-Masar TV, Al-Abani noted that House members had affirmed their support for the agreement, while the decision to convene the session remains with the House speakership.
State Council Rejection Will Not Affect Adoption
Al-Abani said a State Council rejection of the decision would not affect its adoption, considering that this falls within the House of Representatives’ competence under the Constitutional Declaration and in its capacity as the legislative authority.
‘An Important Achievement That Paves the Way Out of the Crisis’
Al-Abani stressed that the mini dialogue committee’s agreement is an important and major achievement that paves the way for exiting the crisis and reaching elections.
