Al-Sharif calls for stronger legislative and oversight work
LIBYA – House of Representatives member Ismail Al-Sharif has said the election of a new Presidency Bureau is a fundamental step towards moving legislative and oversight work forward and reviewing priority laws, especially on health, education, national security and vital sectors.
Sessions in central, southern and western cities
In comments to Al-Masar television, Al-Sharif said the coming period would see the House hold sessions in cities in the central, southern and western regions to strengthen contact with citizens and assess their needs directly.
Oversight of implementation and better services
He stressed that the House must put the state’s interest and citizens’ needs at the top of its priorities, while monitoring the executive’s performance and holding it to account.
He called for more effective parliamentary attendance, legislation that keeps pace with the state’s needs, and real oversight that helps improve services and stability and respond to citizens’ requirements across the regions.
