Training agreement to build Jumhouria Bank staff skills

LIBYA – The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance and Jumhouria Bank have signed a partnership agreement to develop the skills of the bank’s staff through specialised programmes and internationally recognised professional qualifications, according to an economic report by the Zawya website.

Programmes in human resources, auditing and project management

The report, whose contents were followed and summarised by Al-Marsad, said the agreement was signed at the institute’s headquarters in Bahrain on 21 October and covers human resources management, anti-money laundering, internal auditing and project management, to meet staff needs and raise standards of professional performance.

Remarks by Ahmed Al Shaikh and Bassam Kazerooni

The report quoted Ahmed Al Shaikh, chief executive of the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance, as saying that cooperation with Jumhouria Bank would allow the institute to transfer its expertise to Libya and strengthen professional ties and knowledge exchange between the two countries.

Bassam Kazerooni, acting head of the institute’s Banking and Finance Centre, said the programmes would be designed around the bank’s operational needs and the nature of its staff’s jobs, combining preparation for international certifications with practical learning and the application of knowledge and skills in daily work.

Kazerooni stressed that the aim is to improve performance and strengthen professional standards across all of Jumhouria Bank’s departments.
