Plan to address Tobruk’s water crisis
Libya – Tobruk mayor Faraj Bu Al-Khattabiya said the city’s water crisis would end within a period of between one and three months, attributing that to the intervention of Deputy Commander-in-Chief Lt Gen Saddam Haftar, alongside work to drill new wells, maintain stations and develop the main reservoir to increase production.
New plant and Reconstruction Fund project
In remarks to Libya Al-Hadath television, Bu Al-Khattabiya said the creation of a new water plant and its site had been discussed, noting that work was under way to contract an external company to implement the project through the Reconstruction Fund.
He pointed to responses on problems related to the health, education, university and medical centre sectors, stressing that obstacles would be addressed within two months.
Electricity crisis on the way to a solution
Bu Al-Khattabiya added that the electricity crisis was on the way to a solution after new cables arrived and the necessary spare parts were requested, expecting work on it to be completed within 10 days.
