Medsky inauguration at Charles de Gaulle restores nonstop link to Benina
Libya – Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris hosted inauguration ceremonies on Thursday, 17 September, for the first direct flight to Benghazi operated by Medsky, attended by Abdulhadi Al-Huwaij, foreign minister and international cooperation minister in the Libyan government, after more than 15 years without a direct air link between the two cities.

Also attending were Medsky’s board chairman, the director-general of Charles de Gaulle Airport, French foreign ministry officials, and Libyan passengers on the flight bound for Benina International Airport in Benghazi.
Travel and contact options between the two countries
Al-Huwaij said restoring the route was a step to strengthen international air links between Libya and France, expand travel options and open avenues for mobility and contact. Travel from Paris to Benghazi without an intermediate stop serves citizens and business, study and visit trips, and supports contact with Europe.
The flight forms part of efforts to widen the network of international destinations linked to Benghazi and to deepen the city’s openness and direct connections with foreign capitals and cities.
