High Council of State renews rejection of 4+4 Committee outcomes
LIBYA – The political committee of the High Council of State has reaffirmed the council’s refusal to recognise the outcomes of the “4+4” Committee, calling for respect for the legal and constitutional frameworks governing Libya’s political process.
The position came at the committee’s regular meeting on Wednesday, chaired by Mohamed Maazeb and attended by a number of its members at the council’s headquarters in Tripoli. Those present discussed the latest political developments and the progress of the political process in light of the UN envoy’s briefing.
Commitment to the August roadmap, warning against parallel processes
Committee members stressed their commitment to the roadmap announced by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) in August 2025, urging the mission to keep working along its declared path and to avoid introducing parallel processes that could throw the political process into confusion.
They said the aim was to strengthen national consensus, create the conditions for holding elections and bring the transitional phases to an end.
