In Meeting With Khoury, Western Libya Youth Welcome Mini “4+4” Gathering

Youth welcome the deal and call for a role

Libya – Stephanie Khoury, Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for political affairs, met a youth delegation from Tripoli, Zawiya, Sorman, Sabratha and Ajaylat to discuss the political process, including the mini-meeting agreement and the outcomes of the structured dialogue.

Participants exchanged views on youth inclusion and the challenges facing the path to national elections. They welcomed the mini-meeting agreement as a positive step while voicing concern about obstacles that could hinder its implementation.

Widening participation in political decisions

They stressed the need to widen participation — especially by young people — in the political process and decision-making. Khoury affirmed the mission’s commitment to conveying Libyan youth voices and strengthening their presence, noting their role in pushing the political process forward.

She also stressed the importance of implementing the structured dialogue’s outcomes to help create the conditions needed for elections and to strengthen accountable state institutions.
