Jufra municipality raises readiness and coordinates with health and security bodies to face the rains
Libya – Jamaa Al-Tohami, mayor of Al-Jufra municipality, warned of the risk of a catastrophe if heavy rains continue to fall on areas of the municipality, particularly Sokna.
Round-the-clock preparations
Al-Tohami said, in remarks to Libya Al-Hadath television monitored by Al-Marsad, that the municipal council was working around the clock and had held meetings with hospitals, health centres and the ambulance service to raise readiness and prepare for any emergency.
He clarified that these preparations were being carried out in coordination with the security and law-enforcement agencies, noting that the council had contacted the Ministry of Local Government in the Libyan government to brief it on what had happened in Al-Jufra.
