Mediterranean Knights in a tough Africa Cup group
LIBYA – A sports report by the Moroccan site Yabiladi, followed and summarised by Al-Marsad, highlighted the draw for the 2026 Africa Futsal Cup of Nations, which placed Libya in Group A alongside hosts Morocco, Algeria and Zambia.
Tournament from 12 to 21 October
The report said the tournament runs from 12 to 21 October and described Libya’s group as strong, featuring prominent rivals.
Continental experience and the 2008 title
It noted that Libya’s national team, nicknamed the Mediterranean Knights, has wide experience in African competitions, has made regular appearances at the finals and won the continental title in 2008, making it, according to the report, an opponent other sides should treat with caution.
