Meteorology: Mild Conditions Today, Wednesday; Hot Air Mass Affects Western Libya on Thursday
LIBYA – The National Meteorological Centre forecast mild conditions today, Wednesday 9 September 2026, across all areas of the country, especially daytime temperatures, which remain within the usual seasonal averages for September.
The centre noted a rise in relative humidity along coastal areas.
Relatively Hot Air Mass From Thursday
The centre said most western areas would be affected from Thursday by a relatively hot air mass, contributing to a rise in temperatures, particularly inland in the north-west.
Gradual Cool-Down From Saturday Evening
The centre forecast that the hot air mass’s influence would begin to ease gradually from Saturday evening over western areas.
Thunderclouds and Scattered Rain From Sunday
It also pointed to a build-up of cloud from time to time from Sunday over some northern areas of the country, accompanied by thundercloud cells and, at times, scattered rain.
