Situation stable after floods in Mizda
Libya – Jamal Al-Kabashi, mayor of Mizda municipality, said the situation in the municipality is currently stable following the floods that hit the area.
One death and 75 injuries
Al-Kabashi, speaking to Libya Al-Ahrar TV, which broadcasts from Turkey and was followed by Al-Marsad, said the losses included one death — a passer-by from the Warshafana area — while Mizda Hospital received 75 injury cases, including two of moderate severity, three who received treatment for one day and left the hospital safely, and two transferred to Tripoli whose condition he said was good.
Government response and service agencies
Al-Kabashi thanked the prime minister of the Unity Government and the local government minister for the swift response from the first day, noting the arrival of executive and service agencies to support the area, including the Emergency and Support Centre, the Ambulance and Emergency Authority, the General Company for Water and Wastewater, and the National Safety Authority, as well as follow-up by the health minister and the head of the General Electricity Company.
Solidarity and support from several cities
He added that the scene in Mizda showed national solidarity similar to what happened in Derna, in his description, with support arriving from several cities, praising the Gharyan municipal council, the security agencies and the city’s residents, and valuing the support provided by Libyans from Benghazi, Derna, Tobruk, Zawiya and mountain towns.
