Development and investment cooperation with Spanish institutions
Libya – Mahmoud Al-Farjani, director-general of the National Development Agency, discussed with Spain’s ambassador to Libya, Javier Soria, and the accompanying delegation during a reception in Benghazi ways to strengthen relations and cooperation between the two sides and to open direct communication channels that support the implementation of development and investment projects.
Infrastructure, training and exchange of expertise
The meeting covered cooperation in development, investment and infrastructure, as well as training, capacity-building and cultural and knowledge cooperation, and ways to draw on Spanish expertise and strengthen contact between the relevant institutions in both countries. Opportunities for cooperation with Spanish institutions and companies in several priority sectors were also discussed.
Praise for visa facilitation from Benghazi
The Libyan side praised the friendship between Libya and Spain and the leading role of the Spanish embassy in developing and facilitating visa services from Benghazi, which strengthens contact and the movement of delegations between the two countries.
Official invitations to Sirte and Madrid
Al-Farjani extended an official invitation to the ambassador and embassy staff to visit Sirte and the agency’s sites and projects to see the work and available cooperation opportunities at close hand, while the Spanish ambassador extended an official invitation to the agency’s director-general to visit Madrid to continue contact and strengthen cooperation with the relevant Spanish bodies and institutions.
