Turkish Defence Ministry announces completion of basic special forces training with personnel from Libya’s eastern and western regions
LIBYA – Turkish newspaper Yeni Şafak quoted Turkish Defence Ministry spokesman Zeki Akturk as saying Ankara sought to strengthen global stability through training programmes in Libya.
362 Troops Trained
According to the paper, which Al-Marsad followed, Akturk said during the ministry’s weekly press briefing that basic special forces training had been completed for 362 troops from Libya’s eastern and western regions.
Libya’s Unity and One Army
Akturk said Turkey attached great importance to Libya’s unity, territorial integrity and lasting stability, and that it would continue to develop its relations with both the east and the west of the country.
He added that Ankara would continue training activities and military cooperation in line with the goal of “one country, one army”.
