Plans to link Athens with two Libyan cities
LIBYA – A report by Greek Travel Pages, a Greek website specialising in aviation, has said Greek carrier Aegean Airlines intends to expand its North Africa network with plans to operate direct flights to Tripoli and Benghazi.
Possible launch in May 2027
The report, followed and summarised by Al-Marsad, said the airline plans to launch the service in May 2027, noting that the start of the flights remains subject to the completion of the necessary assessments and procedures.
Expanding the international network
It added that the two proposed routes from Athens to Libya would expand the Greek carrier’s international network.
