Al-Kreo links drainage bottlenecks to litter and stalled projects
LIBYA – Nasser Al-Kreo, former head of the crisis committee at Tripoli Municipality, has said the rain that recently fell on the capital was very heavy, arguing that throwing rubbish and plastic waste into the streets helps block drain openings.
Call to complete infrastructure projects
In exclusive comments to the Tanasuh channel, which is affiliated with Sadiq Al-Gharyani, the General National Congress mufti whom the House of Representatives removed from office, Al-Kreo said infrastructure projects in Tripoli had been at a standstill for a long time, and called on the foreign companies carrying them out to complete their projects or be replaced by other firms.
Citizens’ responsibility for keeping drains clear
He stressed that, in his assessment, citizens play a part in worsening the drainage crisis when rubbish and plastic are thrown into the roads, blocking drain openings and impeding the flow of rainwater.
