Baiyu Assails Presidencies of House of Representatives and State Council: No One Will Believe You Even If You Meet on Mars

Libyan Media Foundation chief says HoR and State Council have agreed on little beyond clinging to power for more than 12 years

Libya – Mohamed Baiyu, head of the Libyan Media Foundation affiliated with the Libyan government, said the General Command of the Armed Forces’ statement welcoming the US initiative, issued on 18 June, sets the ceiling under which patriots committed to the leadership and project of Armed Forces Commander Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar should operate.

Criticism of manoeuvrers and those carrying out foreign agendas

Baiyu added, in a post on his personal Facebook page, that those he described as manoeuvrers, evasive operators, seekers of posts and implementers of foreign agendas “have no ceiling, and their positions carry no weight.

He stressed that Libya is not an open market for gamblers and speculators, and that its peoples interests are not a commodity traded by those he called brokers who care not for the homeland’s survival but for fetching the highest price for selling it, adding: “The sale failed, the endeavour came to nothing, and the goods found no buyers.”

Three years since the 6+6 committee

In another post, Baiyu criticised the track followed by the House of Representatives and the State Council, saying three years had passed since the 6+6 committee was formed before it was immobilised, while the two chambers have talked about unifying sovereign posts for 10 years without achieving that, and launched elections five years ago only to fail them, in his words.

Agreement only on remaining in power

Baiyu argued that the two councils, or at least their presidencies, differ on everything except remaining in power for more than 12 years, contending that Libya has seen no real positive transformations in that period other than those he said Field Marshal Khalifa Abu Al-Qasim Haftar achieved, led and delivered.

In that context he pointed to victory over terrorism, building the military institution, securing security and stability, and leading the path of construction, reconstruction and development.

Meetings in Turkey or on Mars

Baiyu addressed the two presidencies, saying: You two heads, focus,” before adding that he did not want to wrong the two councils, which he described as differing on everything that serves the homeland and its people while agreeing on the continuation of crises.

He said no one would believe them, whether they met in Turkey or on Mars, arguing that time had been available to them, yet they had done nothing except refrain from doing what benefits Libya and can be achieved on its soil.

A near appointment for the homeland

Baiyu concluded that the homeland has an upcoming and near appointment, God willing, that will be as the sincere wish, not as the evasive wish.
