Bayo: Massad Boulos’ Initiative Is Still in Its Early Stages and Even Its Opponents May Accept It as an Alternative to War
Libya – The head of the Libyan Media Corporation affiliated with the Libyan government, Mohamed Bayo, said Massad Boulos’ initiative is still in its early stages and has yet to take clearer shape, but he expected it to gain acceptance even among some of those opposed to it, as it represents an alternative to war.
Expectation of Broader Acceptance
Bayo added, in a post on his personal “Facebook” page, that he expects even those rejecting the initiative to accept it, given that it offers an alternative to the option of war, which he said no one wants.
Attack on Advocates of War
Bayo indicated that war is wanted, in his words, only by the “Mufti of Blood,” in reference to his rejection of a return to armed escalation or a slide into a new confrontation, except for former Grand Mufti Sadiq Al-Ghariani, who was dismissed by parliament and who, according to Bayo, is inciting rejection of the initiative and a return to war.
