Turkey Reaffirms Commitment to “One Libya, One Army” Principle Following Flintlock 26 Drills

Libya – A report published by the English edition of Turkey’s “Daily Sabah” quoted the Turkish Defense Ministry as reaffirming Ankara’s commitment to what it described as the principle of “one Libya, one army,” following the Flintlock 26 military drills held in Libya, according to what Al-Marsad newspaper followed and translated.

Turkish Support for Libya’s Stability and Unity

The report said the ministry stressed that Ankara supports a stable and peaceful Libya, where the east and west work in harmony.

It added that Turkey’s priority is to preserve stability, calm, and balance on the basis of inclusive dialogue and consensus among the various parties.

Drills Confirmed Support for Libyan Sovereignty

According to the ministry, the Flintlock 26 drills demonstrated strong support from participating countries for Libya’s sovereignty and independence.

The ministry also said the drills contributed to strengthening Libya’s ability to conduct joint operations within the framework of supporting military and security institutions.

Continued Engagement With All Parties

The ministry added that Ankara has long supported United Nations efforts in Libya while maintaining contacts with all active parties in the country.

It said this approach is based on supporting a solution and promoting stability.

Training More Than 23,000 Libyan Military Personnel

The Turkish Defense Ministry confirmed that it had trained more than 23,000 Libyan military personnel, both in Turkey and Libya.

It noted that its support continues across several fields, including demining, dismantling unexploded ordnance, counterterrorism, and combating irregular migration and smuggling.
